A latest study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science shows that collagen peptides with specific sequences can effectively delay the process of skin aging, providing a new scientific basis for the research and development of anti-aging skincare products. Led by a German institute of dermatological science, the study confirmed the significant effect of oral supplementation of specific collagen peptides on improving skin condition through a 6-month clinical trial involving 200 female volunteers aged between 35 and 55.

The research data shows that the skin elasticity of volunteers who took the collagen peptide continuously increased by 28% compared with that before the trial, the skin moisture content increased by 15%, and the average depth of facial wrinkles decreased by 12%. Researchers explained that after being efficiently absorbed by the human body, this specific collagen peptide can act on the dermal layer of the skin in a targeted manner, stimulate the activity of fibroblasts, and promote the synthesis of collagen and elastic fibers, thereby repairing the damaged skin structure and improving skin aging problems such as sagging, dryness and wrinkles. At present, a well-known international skincare enterprise has obtained the exclusive application authorization of the collagen peptide and invested a huge amount of money in building a production line. It is expected to realize the mass production of related anti-aging skincare products by the end of this year. The product manager of the enterprise revealed that the upcoming skincare products will adopt a dual care model of "oral administration + external application". The oral products are used to supplement collagen peptides from the inside, while the external products act directly on the skin surface to further strengthen the anti-aging effect. Market forecasts show that after such skincare products containing specific collagen peptides are launched, they will quickly occupy an important share of the mid-to-high-end anti-aging skincare product market.
